Choose a color for each area to be painted, that is the woodwork, walls, ceiling, cabinets etc. Create a theme or express your own style with the color choices. See "How To Choose Colors" and "Six Step Color Choice".
Walls and ceilings are normally painted with acrylic (water-based) paint. Woodwork can be painted with either acrylic or oil-based paint. See "How To Choose Paint". All paints are available in a variety of sheens from flat to high gloss.
